What is Systema? Systema Self Defense Mega clip
Systema only good for movies!
Systema The Best
The sucker aikido throat grab.
its not aikido ! aikijutsu perhaps !
I will have my first systema class tonight! :)
you still continue it?
Hmm, i thought aikido guys never attacked, I hope for your sake you didnt pay 40 $ a month to learn how to grab a guy by the throat
몸이 약해도 배울수 있나요?
And his hands were in his pocket and he was standing feet close centre of gravity high, this is just like a sucker punch but grabbing instead .
It's not a fight as the guy in yellow is the only 1 that done anything , if the other guy had swivelled and used his arms it wouldn't have been as easy then.
grabbing someone by the throat = aikido?
this is old but lolololololololololoolol
i think that is choking
i have tried systema and i can say that the locks and throws do work. when they block a punch or a kick they put you in a position where you have to fall or roll because if you dont you will have some bones broken. systema uses they balance against them. Once they are off balance you have full power over them.
In addition, a systema punch can be totally devastating.
BeyondSideshow yea. i know i have felt it.
Yeah Aikido kinda has the same approach and it hasn't worked out for them...
The Fridge!
aikido was developed from aikijutsu, a rather pragmatic art akin to jujutsu. It's said that aikijutsu was developed from kenjutsu, an art to kill so to speak. In one version, as the attacker begins offensive gestures or movements ( usually performed as kiri otoshi or shomen uchi with a sword) you immediately thrust forward to the opponent's eyes or throat. That will cause the opponent to be either disbalanced, maimed, killed, or pressured away due to the threat. In the archaic sense, this is an irimi waza. Most students of modern aikido would be repulsed by the idea of offensive strategy and tactics being applied to aikido but a cursory examination of where it comes from would show its military origins and ruthless ambition.
I might have made a mistake in some japanese terminology. it might not be said as kiri otoshi but kiri oroshi. just wanted to clarify.
In aikido, you grab him by the chin, but the guy missed his chin.So what, you're gonna say that is not aikido now!?Atemi isn't necessary, and aikido isn't only a defensive technique. You can attack him with aikido too.Aikido is deadly, and you should use it if necessary, and if you want to kill somebody :-)
He came in like a wrecking ball
Yeah the secret throat grab technique. LOL these akidio fanboys are so funny.
Nice Work
not aikido. its just a throat thrust. if it has to look like a martial arts its more Krav magra (pretty sure i mispelled this)
actually in aikido we can strike the eyes, throat and griont.
+Jack Yammouni **as well**
this is called a kokyunage which is a aikido grab move. this is aikido. aikido fights are very short and easily mistaken for fake videos since aikido is based on ending the fight as soon as possible to move to the next target(group fights) a 1 v 1 can end in one move making it look like luck and not skill. aikido is also very fun and it flows very nicely. also to everyone else aikido is a attack martial art not defense. even though it redirects attacks like defense aikido is used widely on the attack do to its destructive power. it was designed this way. try aikido its also good for your body. ^.^
Fzjr vs
Please people who doesn't know much about aikido, stop saying Aikido never attack.May you need to practice before juging.
Vegas .
that is not aikido...
this is rubbish! in aikido its all about "defence" never "attack" that is why its called "self defence" with this he just grabbed him by the neck and viciously took him down where in aikido the aim is not to hurt but to defend
Which is why he jumped ship to Iraq's G.I. Yussef in the early 90s.
Это система "атеми"
any aikidoka should know by now that aikido is not possible without atemi.
I would say 90% garbage, they have some nice ideas though, the three men punching and swinging is strange, this is systema style sparring, they should spar with other people like boxers for example and then show us.
So you understood 10% of what was going on. Do you get why they train like this?
BeyondSideshow i like some of their stuff, yes. But it would be good to see a real test against a boxer for example.
What more u people need. Some one actually getting shot.
Fun workout.
Excellent video shows the real fighter face. Many kiss and love to mother Russia
SICK!!!
You could say it's an irimi nage but as an offensive move. After all, "irimi nage" just means "entering throw", it's just about getting your center of gravity next and behind your opponment's to make him fall. As long as you understand the mecanics behind a MA move, you can use it in a variety of situation, it must not always be against a hara tsuki ("punch" to the "stomach") for example. Ah yeah, of course he is grabbing the throat of the other guy but it can also work that way, although irimi nage is usually done pushing the chin with the palm or the arm. It's easier by pushing the chin in the right fashion but anyway.
i always love to see how the defender NEVER has an actual fighting stance and the attacker attacks like he aint even mad, then gets whooped. i wanna see this against a propper professional fighter. then we'll know the effectivness
+Giovanni Ninzatti An actual fighting stance is whatever you happen to be in when you need to protect yourself. The whole 'stance' thing is severely limiting, and should only be taken as a teaching tool for principles of structure, balance, etc.
If it can't be trained alive it shouldn't be trained BUT to say it has to work against a pro is a RIDICULOUS standard. An MMA fighter won't attack you the way a pissed off, drunk muscle head will
the last part was BJJ? any how... if i cant see a video of a martial artist under the TRUE pressure of attack, strikes, kicks, takedowns and grappeling... then i dont really wanna be a believer... look at Wrestling, judo, BJJ maui thai... you can see how its used in real time and under the actual pressure of a battle.
I agree it's BS but that is a ridiculous standard, a pro fighter won't attack like a muscle head, a drunk guy, a skinny guy with a knife, etc
Also I'd hardly consider wrestling self defense....( for reference there's a video of a guy on a beach shooting a nice double then getting KOed and eating sand)
i believe almost any soft style would wreck this dude... I have very limited study in Aikido, San Soo Kung Foo, Penjak Silat, Army basic Hand to hand trainning. Aikido would definitly frustrate him too. there is no rigid body movements so you cannot feel the techniques or Moves being applied agaist you.
+Efre mendez Actually, he teaches at many Aikido seminars, and owns those guys. Look it up. I studied San Soo (I know Bernie Chen Woo), Silat (Inti Ombak), and Aikido as well (both Shin Shin Toitsu and Hombu Dojo style), Combat Wudang Tai Chi (Docherty/Chen Ting Hung lineage) - they don't begin to compare to Systema. Several senior instructors from Aikido, Silat, Kuntao, even BJJ, have switched to Systema. It's saved my hide more than once over the past 9 years (I won't go into that, but I had a job that put me in harm's way, it never let me down). I have never felt anyone softer and more elusive than Vladimir Vasiliev, and Martin Wheeler being a close second place. You have to feel it to understand. I still practice Aikido occasionally, I enjoy it as an art form, but it's really not so hot as a self-defense system, not in a world without swords and armor, so much, without many more years of practice than it would take to achieve the same thing studying Systema, or even BJJ.
0:06 - So, we're celebrating by giving away Sargent Slaughter action figures. But you can't find them in stores, You've gotta earn them! Here's how. 0:23 - Nobody chase on Cobras better, than Sargent Slaughter. "YOOOO JOE!"
This was a scene from a tv show similar to COPS
why does it take a martial artist to grab someones throat ? ? ? anyone can do that !
Those were the days...
AIKIDO NEVER ATTACK
+Sainiuc Alexandru Simon Not true brother, Aikido can attack and have attack technics that can broke your bones before you fill it.
I guarantee I could 2 on 1 him clinch and dump em.
+andujo211 Funny, hundreds of other cocky idiots have said the same thing - none have done it. Go to a seminar and try it. I GUARANTEE you you'll be singing a different tune afterwards. Guarantee it.
"At 1:51 the attacker gets hit with a right and turns in the opposite direction HaHaHa" Someone has never seen a person with training fall before. That's what he's doing, mostly because his balance is disrupted.
Hi i'm wondering can somebody please tell me who is that fast dude at 0:40, 0:53, 1:00, 1:12, 1:19, 1:30, 1:40. And I like to say still this videos is one of the best out on youtube yet. Thanks for sharing :D
Mikhail Ryabko
I don't think it'll be possible to find a video with systema "really" in action. Unlike a lot of other martial arts, it's more about self-defense than sport. Which means a lot of it is about getting in crippling hits that'd be illegal in sparring. Unless someone had a camera on hand while a real fight in a military mission was going down I doubt we'd ever really see what systema can do.
+Ri Chang Least some one understands
+Ri Chang Well I learned from kevin secours and we would spar, the thing is that when you're sparring you can't really do all the crazy locks you learn from like vasiliev. Look at systema in real combat video. At the school where kevin teaches, you learn some boxing techniques because pure self defense won't work if you don't know how to punch, kick, bob and weave correctly.
xGarrettThiefx Because anyone in a situation where they need to use what they learned in self defense classes know it's better to hit him in the nuts than try to mayweather your opponent.
serious...
Poor understanding of martial arts, there are no "illegal" moves in sparring lol. If it cant be trained in sparring you shouldn't assume it'll work in the real world
from Anpha FSB
I'll believe it when I see it.
"I like how the fat guy plods on and only offers a lazy elbow parry as an answer to leaving himself wide open." A clear indication that your opinion of your relevant expertise greatly exceeds your actual expertise. That 'fat guy' would take your knife and carve you with it. You completely missed the distancing, the minimal movement, the control of the center line, and in the earlier scene a limb destruction technique (hint: that's why the attacker was shaking his fist after it hit an elbow or whatever). You also missed the use of angles.
Yeh and if he tries to poke the eyes he would get his finger bitten off
